As a little girl growing up in small town Gillette, Wyoming I always dreamed about the glamour of red carpet events and award shows – so much so that there are multiple pieces of footage of me as a small child pretending to interview stars with my first question always being, “Who are you wearing?”
I guess you could say I moved to Music City 7 years ago with stars in my eyes, hoping to get the opportunity to ask that exact question to my favorite celebrities on the red carpet. Last night I got that moment as the beauty and fashion correspondent for abc.com. Stationed right next to the step and repeat, I was the first stop when stars were finished posing for paparazzi on the carpet.
I would like to report to my 8 year old self with the hairbrush microphone that being there is in fact, just as magical as it appears on television – maybe even more so because unlike in other entertainment capitals, the luminaries in Nashville treat you like an old friend.
Tomorrow I’ll be sharing more of my looks from last night, but today I want to focus on the best and worst dressed celebrities of last night.
Glowing perfection/you can’t even really tell she’s pregnant. Love the way she dressed her bump all night!
This is called slaying. Miranda never had bad taste, but as of late she is really standing out as a fashion darling in country music. So classically glamorous and beautiful. I think the shorter hairstyle she’s sporting now really suits her.
Little Big Town
I can’t with them. Every. Time. I just can’t. Kimberly’s retro gown… Karen’s epic jacket that coordinates with her husbands suit… They are everything. Oh, and they’re also the nicest people in the human race.
Maybe it’s the dress, maybe it’s her posture, maybe it’s just her. I don’t know, I don’t care. She takes my breath away. That is all.
LOVE a classic tuxedo! Brett loves the classics like Sinatra and his style always emulates that. The perfect look for a New Artist of the Year winner! Check out the video below where not only do we get to talk about pigs, but he sang a little Sinatra for all of us.
Hey artists wearing jeans and ball caps trying to maintain your “brand” on the red carpet: THIS is how it’s done. Country aaaaand dressed appropriately for the event. Love some cowboy boots with a suit. Handsome and stylish! Dig it.
Tuxedo AND pompadour?! Is he reading from the Brenna Mader book of everything I love to see a man wear?! (Available soon on amazon.com) LOVE! I’ve gotten to interview Frankie several times and he is a sweet doll face. This is one guy who’s career I’ll be cheering for!
This immediately caught my eye when she walked on to the red carpet. GORGEOUS color on her! Check out my chat about fashion and “ring game” with her below. (PS: My ring game is courtesy of Kendra Scott. Obsessed.)
Gorgeous. Stylish. Age Appropriate. It was even more beautiful in person, but this is the best I’ve seen Martina look in a long time! Kudos!
Ain’t mad at a classic, tailored, navy suit. I think I liked this look even more because upon interviewing him, I’m pretty sure he had nooo idea how great he looked. Adorbz.
I know, I know, it’s his thing. He was even nice enough to take a selfie with my cohosts and I (check it out on Instagram!), but this is just a lot. It doesn’t look put together – not that you have to look polished when you’re a rock star but I don’t think this looks cool or edgy either. It’s just not working for me. haha
I will say, this is better than what he usually wears, but his style is the epitome of everything I hate. Sooooo many mancessories. And a ball cap. The whole thing is very Ed Hardy to me aka sooo over when Paris Hilton retired her custom blinged trucker hat.
Gretchen prides herself on being a “redneck woman.” I mean… we get it, you don’t try, but… maybe sometimes you should. It just looks silly to show up to a red carpet event wearing this.
The awards this year were overall so glamorous and I loved every single minute of it! Did I leave anyone off my best and worst dressed list??
