I love the cool factor of festival fashion – whether it be a country, indie, EDM, or any other genre’s festival, the looks are always functional while still being inventive, on trend, and sometimes a little over the top. (Yes please.) Every summer, literally THOUSANDS of people flood Nashville for the Country Music Association’s CMA Music Festival. Starting next Wednesday, 5 days are filled to the brim with concerts from every country act you could want to see on various stages around downtown Nashville, autograph signings, and all kinds of other events. Although there are country music festivals all around the country all summer long, this week’s Fashion Friday is CMA Fest inspired.

Festival Fashion is so much fun and this look is cool and comfortable which is a festival necessity. Stay tuned, next week’s festival fashion is inspired by another legendary Tennessee music festival – Bonnaroo.

Lately I’ve been really lazy about cooking. Usually I love to create things in the kitchen – perhaps it’s the warmer weather, all I want to do is be outside. I’ve been whipping up this recipe several times a week because it LITERALLY takes me less than 4 minutes to make, it’s super healthy, and it has lots of flavor.
Raw Brussel Sprout SaladYou’ll need:

  • Brussel Sprouts (Trader Joe’s sells a pre-shedded bag that I love)
  • 1 Package Pea Shoots
  • 1 Cup Hazelnuts or Walnuts
  • 2 Tablespoons Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Carraway Seeds
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • (Optional) Add avocado to taste if you want to bulk it up

Enjoy!

Happy Memorial Day! Let’s be sure to all take a moment on this day to remember the brave one’s who died so that we all might live in freedom. I am so thankful to be an American.

In honor of this patriotic holiday, I’ve styled fun red, white, and blue outfit.

I have found myself wearing a ridiculous amount of red and white stripes as of late – I can’t get enough. I also recently purchased a pair of Warby Parker frames that I love dearly. A friend of mine casually mentioned that I looked like “Where’s Waldo.” I’m choosing to take that as a compliment, I mean who wouldn’t want to look like that, ok?! #’Merica #Patriot #Nautical

Do you like the NFL? Do you like beauty queens? Do you like supporting worthy causes? If you answered yes to any of these questions I have just the ticket for you! In exactly 1 week, the first ever Clash of the Titans event is coming to Nashville! Current and former Titans and other NFL players are coming together to play a charity basketball game.
clash of the titansWho does this benefit you ask? A program called Gethsemane House. Gethsemane House is a ministry that meets the needs of children in the poverty stricken community of Ayacucho, Peru by feeding, educating, and providing health care for the children and their families.  There are close to 100 children currently involved in their program.  Gethsemane House can’t meet all of the families needs, so Christ Life Community has decided to partner with the Gethsemane House and help meet these needs.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Purchase them here!

Did I mention that there will be some beauty queens there? Four former Miss Tennessee USA’s including myself will be there to sign autographs and make fools of ourselves at halftime!
MissTennesseeTaryn Foshee of Women Can Talk Sports (You may remember me talking about her incredible app here!) will be the mistress of ceremonies and Forte Femme (watch their latest video here!) will be singing the national anthem!
Hope to see you there!
