Happy Friday everyone! It doesn’t feel much like Friday to me since I’ve literally been sitting at home all week because of the crazy ice and weather in Nashville. I was supposed to be in four different cities this week – alllllll cancelled.
I saw where someone had put on Facebook that these past few snow days = freshman 15. HA! I can’t help but agree, I’ve been doing my fair share of eating and drinking this week. #oops
Also, due to the weather, there’s no way I was going outdoors for a photo shoot! (Yeah yeah I know some of you probably live in Fargo, I GET IT, IT’S COLDER THERE! However, we don’t have snow tires here and the city of Nashville literally has like… 5 trucks that can plow and salt. Let us wimps have our dramatic moment, pleeeease!)
SO, because of that, here is a post I’ve been wanting to write for a while – pieces to invest in and pieces to save on. I’m known amongst my friends as being a superior bargain shopper – finding ridiculous pieces for ridiculous deals and I think it’s good to be strategic where you’re spending your money on fashion – some of the items in your closet are only going to realistically be worn for one season and some you’ll wear for years and years.
Invest: The key thought on investment pieces is that they should be classic(ly your style, you’ll notice with me that means a lot of leather!) and be of high enough quality that they’ll last long enough to make the investment worth it.
1. Boots – a nice pair of boots will last almost forever. You guys know how much I love my cowboy boots and I’ve had some of them for 10 years now and they’re still going strong. Any type of nice boot is worth the investment though – riding boot, cowboy boot, high heeled boot, etc… find a pair or two you LOVE that is versatile and you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. (I wear some of mine with shorts, dresses, jeans, etc.)
