DSC_0146If you’ve followed my blog for any amount of time, you know how much I love wearing Kendra Scott jewelry. (Some of my favorites worn at the CMA Awards, Nashville Fashion WeekNew Year’s Eve, in Jamaica, in Florida… you get the idea!)DSC_0085

I shop online for Kendra Scott on the regular so I was so excited to learn several months ago that they were opening a store in Nashville in the Hill Center! It recently opened and the sweet girls on the team at the Nashville store invited me in to do something I’d never done before – the Color Bar, aka where anyone can be a jewelry designer. Using a touchscreen (you can also do this online) you can choose from a large selection of earrings, bracelets, rings, or necklaces. I’ve been looking to add a neutral, feminine pair of earrings that I can dress up or down to my personal collection, so I was excited to create a pair to fit my summer style! Continue reading

Hey Guys! Guess what? It’s my birthday week aka I’m going to consume everything I love. This past weekend I was in Florida for a friend’s wedding and someone prepared a little beachside cocktail that is tooooo delish not to share.DSC_0168

I’m all about a cocktail, and I usually try to make them on the more guilt free/skinny girl side of the fence (remember this stevia simple syrup recipe and this skinny mojito?) BUT NOT TODAY! Whoa this is so good/worth the calories on occasion (if it’s your birthday especially) and perfect for hanging beach or poolside! Continue reading

DSC_0073Not to brag people, but I’m at the beach right now. In the words of my friend Stacey who took these photos, “sorry for the beach spam – I’m sure your desks are really great…” mwahahaha

Rubbing it in too much??  Continue reading

Living in the South where it’s humid, I’m not always religious about using lotion because I don’t have to be. However, I’ve recently started using CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion to successfully treat various skin annoyances like KP and razor burn.

Since I was young, I’ve had KP or Keratosis Pilaris aka small red bumps on the backs of my arms. (There’s a good chance you have this too – 50% of the population does!) There are a few things that have helped this a little bit, but the best tip I got was while I was at Miss USA. One of my favorite makeup artists/people, Danielle Doyle of The Perfect Face , told me that using CeraVe on my arms every single day would help alleviate the problem. For some reason, it’s taken me until now to follow her advice, but I have to say it has helped significantly, especially when combined with regular exfoliation and having some omegas in my diet. (I throw chia seeds in my smoothie to get a good dose.) CeraVe is also great for calming razor burn and for extra soft skin. I’ve read various reviews online and some suggest the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream for KP and  still others like the CeraVe Renewing SA Lotion best. I’ve only tried the moisturizing lotion, but thus far I am incredibly happy with the results. Here’s to soft, smooth, beautiful summer skin!

Last night’s Nashville Fashion Week: Design + Fashion event at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams was a chic fête. New York Fashion Week founder Fern Mallis mingled with guests while artist Herb Williams proudly displayed his “Call of Couture” series. The series features his one of a kind sculptures made of crayons!
