Loving this month’s playlist – if I had to choose my favorite tracks this month, they would be off Keith Urban’s new album “Ripcord.” I’m a long time Keith Urban fan (some of you may know of my awkward “you’re da bomb” encounter with him, but I’ll save that for another day…) Anyways, I’m such a huge fan of his older stuff and although I like his more recent albums, they didn’t strike me as much. WELL this new one is… da bomb. Seriously, love. What have y’all been listening to?
By now you guys know how much I love curating playlists each month. I’m excited that I was able to find so many great new and old (see the first two songs on the playlist – haha) songs this month. Favorites include “ILYSB” by LANY – I can’t remember how I found it but it’s my current favorite upbeat love song. My friend Whitney of Blonde Atlas also told us that a friend from college is the drummer in this band. Go Jake Goss! My favorite slow love song is from… wait for it – Justin Bieber. Have you guys heard “All That Matters” yet?? It’s so good – the kid has talent. I admit it, I’m a Belieber. I’m also feeling ANY track that features Tove Lo. What are you listening to right now?
You could definitely say that I went a little bit crazy with this last playlist – it’s one of my largest ever! I travelled a lot on March and I listen to a ton of music when I’m on the road. I hit the jackpot with finding some really cool artists/songs I hadn’t heard of before like Ady Suleiman (two versions of the same song – “Need Somebody To Love” on this playlist – I love them both that much!) I’m also obsessed with Miguel and his “Waves” remix EP, especially the collaboration with Kacey Musgraves. You’ll also find some oldies but goodies on here – an Alicia Keys track from her first record Songs in A Minor… just as good now as it was then, “Good Life” by Kanye West, and “I Don’t Trust Myself (With Loving You)” by John Mayer. Enjoy! Tell me what you have on repeat!
This whole playlist makes me think of California which is where I was when I created most of it. There’s quite a bit of early 2000s hip hop further down on the list that was playing when I was by the pool at The Hollywood Roosevelt with friends one night. Isn’t it funny how music can take you back to a very specific place and time? I love that about it. I’m also digging the new Lumineers song “Ophelia” and as much as I hate to admit it, I’m loving “Pillowtalk” by Zayn – especially the stripped down version on my playlist. Judge away. haha
What’s the song you can’t stop playing right now?
The week of Valentine’s Day I always like to bust out this playlist that I’m always adding music to – a list of my favorite love songs. Enjoy – what is your favorite love song? I might have to add it to the list!
