I loved yesterday’s outfit so much – quintessentially summer. I love pairing bright colors and I’m obsessed with these natural stone jewels. Everything I’m wearing minus my boots and sunglasses came from Muse Boutique. (You may remember my last outfit from them!) Muse always has tons of on trend styles from casual to dressy with tons of great accessories! But seriously, how to-die is this bracelet and necklace?!I paired this skirt and top with the Sidewinder from Dan Post – my go to go-with-anything boot. They are black and brown, making them easy to throw on with anything.
There were so many highlights from yesterday – I always love chatting with Cassadee Pope. That girl is one of the sweetest and most talented new artists in my opinion. I adore her.
I also adore the Swon Brothers. They performed at CMA Fest for the first time last year and I’ve interviewed them several times since. They are so genuinely nice and also have great senses of humor. They also kill some vocals and guitar… check them out if you haven’t already. BUT let me tell you what really won me over –
There was a kid who stood outside ALL day yesterday hoping to get an autograph from them. I noticed he had been standing there all day and asked him who he was most excited to see. He said The Swon Brothers and was holding a card that he wanted them to autograph. I took it from him and took it backstage and they were so sweet to sign it for him – BUT they one upped that by a landslide. Colton told me to help him find the kid in the audience and that he had a surprise for him. At one point in the show they gave him a guitar and then later came down and let him sing in the microphone. Seriously, that kid was on cloud 9. It was so fun being a part and that act of kindness just shows how much those guys care for their fans! They’re the best!
Of course I took 18 photos as this was happening and they all turn into grey boxes when I try to view them on my phone – has this happened to anybody, and if so is there a way to fix it? I’d love to share the photos!
I can’t believe tomorrow is the last day of CMA Music Fest – hosting here is such a dream job and one of my favorite gigs of the year. When I moved to Nashville in 2007, I dreamed of having work opportunities like this, so it’s completely surreal to actually live it out sometimes! I’m so thankful!
