ICYMI: I got married on March 25th.
(Is everyone done with it yet?)

NO WORRIES TONS MORE POSTS TO COME! haha

I wanted to share what I wore to several of my most important wedding events. I agonized over these wardrobe choices, sent an annoying number of snapchats to my close friends, and spent way too much time shopping for these looks. If you have something important coming up, maybe this will help you narrow down your search.

Engagement Photos:
I put a lot of pressure on myself with what I was wearing in these photos. These pics last forever and I wanted to represent myself accurately. Luckily, my photographers (Love Is A Big Deal) are amazing and let me do a wardrobe change so I could have two completely different looks. Meg and Josh are a husband wife photo/video duo and are also the perfect mix of calming and hysterical. Any photo you see us dying laughing in is a genuine reaction to something they said and I have very few photos that have captured mine or Tim’s genuine smile. They killed it, I love these images so much!BrennaTimEngaged124My friend Chelsea found this whole look for me and it’s everything I love – green, off the shoulder, cool earrings. Loved it! I wasn’t even looking for something else to wear, but came across this dress in a surprising location aka a store I never shop in when I was picking something up for Tim. You’ll probably see a million more pictures of me in this dress over time because I love it so much.BrennaTimEngaged094

Bridal Shower:
I shared this look in a prior post about my shower, but I wanted to share it again here as well.

Welcome Brunch:
I already had an outfit locked down for this brunch when I came across this fab skirt at UAL for $32. Bridal, beachy, chic, done. I couldn’t have been more excited to wear this. I’ve had the top forever from Muse. (Two of my favorite Nashville spots for my locals or those visiting)

Beauty:
I kept my makeup pretty much the same all wedding weekend. I did a similar look the weekend I won the Miss Tennessee USA pageant and so I felt like it was good luck. haha It must have worked because the whole wedding weekend went off without a hitch! SELFIE TIP: always take your selfie with natural light coming at you and a darker background – it hides a myriad of imperfections. This selfie was taken before I put on mascara, so don’t forget to do that!IMG_0564| Eyeshadows: pink, brown, dark brown, highlight | Eyeliner | Lipliner in “Posy Perfect” | Lipstick in “Medium Rare” | Blush | Foundation (It’s technically a concealer, but it’s thin and build able and I love it as a a foundation) | Powder | Brow Powder | Primer | Setting Spray | Contour Powder |

Rehearsal Dinner:
My friend Chelsea also scouted this dress for me. I usually have a really hard time wearing strapless because I have a more full bust, but this dress offers plenty of room and stretch. I thought this dress had a really flattering fit and was comfortable too. I like the flare it has but I also think I won’t hate it when I look at photos a few years down the road. I don’t think photos fully do it justice, but I got tons of compliments on it, I don’t think you’ll go wrong having this beauty in your closet. (I’m in between a 4 and 6 and a M fit me perfectly.)

Today’s look is quintessential summer to me. I love mixing bright colors and this shade of poppy looks awesome with both turquoise and stark white. I wanted to keep my footwear neutral and I couldn’t be more obsessed with this pair of Joe’s Jeans taupe Macee heels. This week’s look is a little bit more contemporary and urban that what I usually wear. I tend to be a little more glam and over the top, but sometimes the best looks are the most simple and classic. I centered my whole look around my new Calvin Klein Vivian ankle strap heels. Calvin Klein makes this shoe in a variety of colors and materials and I’m already lusting after several other pairs, but I couldn’t resist the black and white lizard. I’ve worn this fun shoe with jeans, dresses, shorts, and tons of different colors. It’s a great summer sandal! The rest of the look came together so easily and I’m willing to bet most of you have some variation of these pieces in your closet already. I felt soOoOo Kim Kardashian in my blazer and crop top… wait. Am I saying that like it’s a good thing? Whatever. haha Kara and I also loved that the setting was both feminine and tough… just like us modern women, right? :) Forever 21 Blazer, Calvin Klein Vivian Ankle Strap Heels, Brenna Mader, Kara McLelandHouse of Harlow, House of Harlow White Sunburst Ring, Forever 21 BlazerProcessed with VSCOcam with f2 preset Wanderlust and Glitter Dust, Brenna Mader, House of Harlow ring, Forever 21 Blazer, Cat eye sunglasses, Crop TopBlack and White FashionBlack and White FashionCalvin Klein, Calvin Klein Vivian, Black and White LizardProcessed with VSCOcam with f2 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

One of my favorite makeup looks is a cat eye. I love all of them all – from a subtle retro look to a dramatic smokey eye. I’m a longtime devotee of gel eyeliner, but recently I got my hands on a new limited edition product from MAC Cosmetics call the Kelly Jumbo Penultimate. It’s from the collaboration MAC did with Sharon and Kelly Osborne and it’s essentially a sharpie for your eyes. The penultimate has a tip just like a marker that allows you to create the most thin and natural lines as well creating as much intensity as you want. Using the marker allows for much more precision than a brush in my opinion – so for those of you who haven’t mastered the cat eye yet or who want to make it much easier, get your hands on the Kelly Jumbo Penultimate before it’s gone forever!

I recently used it to create this bold look on my best friend Kara for a photo shoot for the acapella group she’s a part of called Forte Femme. (She’s usually the one behind the camera shooting all of my Fashion Friday looks, but that stunning face needs to be in front of it more, don’t you agree?!)

I would love to see pics of the cat eye looks you all create – and I’ll even share some of them! Leave me a comment here or share them on Twitter or Instagram! I’ll leave you with Forte Femme’s latest video – their own arrangement of Kimbra’s “Settle Down.” If you like upbeat, current, acapella music, you’ll LOVE Forte Femme!

Wanderlust and Glitter Dust Parisian Stripes

I’ve never been to Paris (yet) but I’ve always had a love affair with the beautiful architecture of the city, it’s food and wine, and especially the glamorous women and designers who reside there. (Chanel anyone!?) Nothing is more très chic than classic black and white. I wanted to do Paris with a little bit of rock and roll doing the classic black and white striped top in a cropped version and pairing it with a vegan leather skirt. The cat eye sunglasses and classic red lip add a little bit of fun retro flair, no? This is making me hungry for a croissant. How do you do Paris?
